Home Made Instant Pot Yogurt Recipe 1

Yield: 8 CUPS Prep time: 30 MINUTES Cook time: 9 HOURS Total time: 9 HOURS 30 MINUTES

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups whole milk*
  • 1/4 cup plain whole milk yogurt

Instructions:

  1. Start by putting the milk into the Pot; close and lock the lid.
  2. Select the yogurt function on the display and put the pressure setting in boil. This step can take up to 1 hour.
  3. Once the boil is done wait for the cooker to cool by introducing it into a bowl of ice water, stirring occasionally, until the milk reaches 100 to 110 degrees F, about 15- 20 minutes; set aside 1 cup milk.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together yogurt and reserved 1 cup milk. Stir into remaining milk, being careful not to scrape the bottom of the insert.
  5. Return insert into the Instant Pot. Choose the yogurt function and set it at 8 hours.
  6.  Now you can move the Yogurt to a storage container; cover and chill until cold, about 6-8 hours, or up to 10 days.

*2% milk can be substituted.
